About Patrick Oseloka Ezepue

Providing full-spectrum statistical consulting and data analytics globally

Preamble

My name is Patrick Oseloka EZEPUE. I offer highly personalised statistical, business analytics, user and service design  research and consulting services to academics, students, professionals, and policy makers who requir

e advanced business and data analysis support for their projects, and all these with significant experience across the Global Quadruple Helix -academia, government departments and services, industry, and wider society.

Within the purview of Business Analytics, I fervently explore interfaces between a problem space and such fields as User Research, Business Analysis, Statistics, Data Science, Applied Computing, and Management Consulting. For this, I turn continuing masteries in the fields into original AfriWorld frameworks for Real World Research and Problem Solving, across academia, government, industry, and wider society, such as local and professional communities. I basically live a project-based life which generates very deep experiences within each field and their multidisciplinary exchanges. As I wear each hat, though, I focus on the requisite detailed procedures and good practices for solving the Complete Problem, using insights from the other fields as additional tools.

As my profile shows, I am a corporate-academic statistician with BSc, MSc and PhD training in applied statistics and stochastic modelling. With qualifications in Business Administration and teaching and learning in higher education, I am able to support different research projects with data analysis and additional guidance in other stages of the research process, including:

  • topic formulation,
  • critical literature review,
  • detailed methodology,
  • findings and discussions,
  • best frameworks for developing the contributions to knowledge, and
  • technical proof-reading of the projects.

These services are summarised in this website, across different fields of statistics.

Profile

I am/was the:

  • User Researcher, UK NHS Digital Covid-19 Test and Trace Programme, October 2021-March 2022
  • Founder/Director of Research and Enterprise Development at the African Higher Education & Research Observatory UK (http://www.afrihero.org.uk); its global face, Oselux World Higher Education & Research Observatory 3E (Worldhero 3E, http://www.oseluxworldhero3e.com), technically trading as the International Centre for Research and Enterprise Development (ICRED), http://www.icred7e.com and The International Technical Research and Enterprise Development University X (TITREDU X); the International Centre for Research and Human Development, http://www.duicrehud.com, at Dominican University Ibadan, Nigeria
  • Professor of Statistics and Business Analytics | Director of Academic Practice at Coal City University, Nigeria, a voluntary capacity that enables me to support the development of innovative academic practices in Nigeria, Africa, and developing countries of the Global South, mainly
  • AfriWorld Distinguished Professor of Digital Economy, UK, with a fervent focus on transforming and democratising global education and change through the above digital platforms and across the Q-Helix
  • Founder/Director of Technical and Multimedia Communications, AfriWorld Academic and Global Publishing, www.afriworldpublishing.com
  • Visiting Professor, Nigerian Central Bank-University of Nigeria Centre for Collaborative Postgraduate Studies in Finance and Economics, emphasis on innovative research and teaching in Data Mining and Business Intelligence
  • Senior Research Fellow, Centre for Biomedical Sciences and Nutraceuticals, Ebonyi State University, Nigeria
  • A former Visiting Professor of Stochastic Modelling in Finance and Business, National Mathematical Centre, Nigeria. I cherish using combined know-hows in the above fields to produce meaningful  theoretical and practical results in finance, insurance, insurance, economics, banking and business (fondly referred to as the FIEBB disciplines).
  • I have trained PhD students in these fields some of whom are currently Associate Research Fellows and Consulting Statisticians in this platform
  • External PhD Supervisor in Applied Statistics, Data Science and Quantitative Geography, University of Lincoln, UK
  • External PhD Supervisor, Institute of Development Studies, University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus

Technically, my primary research domains include:

  • Business Analytics including User Research, Business Analysis, Data Mining, Data Science, Big Data analytics; Philosophy of Science & Knowledge Production; Applied Statistics, Stochastic Processes and their Applications in FIEBB; Statistical Modelling and Informatics;  Computational Modelling; and Financial Mathematics.

I have related secondary research interests in:

  • Applied Mathematics;
  • Operational Research;
  • Quantitative Social Science;
  • 7Es of Education and Human Development – Expertise, Experience, Entrepreneurship, Enterprise Development, Employability, Emotional Intelligence, and Execution;
  • Higher Education Research and Innovation; and the
  • Pedagogy of Statistics, Business Analytics and Mathematical Sciences.

I have supervised more than 13 PhD and 25 MSc students in these areas and published more than 70 academic papers and reports in the above fields; see the Publications section.

I have supported clients in qualitative, quantitative and mixed-method data analysis and research methods in such problem areas as:

  • Cross-functional user-centred research and services design especially in the UK, mathematical sciences, applied computing, biological sciences, medicine, health and social care, biostatistics, clinical trials and research, business and management, finance and economics, quality engineering, human resource management, strategic marketing research, psychology of work and human performance, social sciences and humanities, and other areas.

As Research Director in AfriWorld Higher Education and Research Observatory UK, of which Sigma Z Analytics is a scion, I consult with clients globally in

  • Nigeria, Africa, Middle East, Europe and UK, Asia, India, China, US and the Americas.

I will work with you to develop a personalised approach to your research needs. Interestingly, I start by running a mini-user research around the contexts of your research. This enables you to master your problem space and situate your research project in a wider ambience of understandings that capture the Complete Problem. This way, you appreciate even more the role of your project in resolving aspects of the Complete Problem, the real world needs that should be met by the envisaged solutions, portraits of the pain points caused by those needs, underpinning personas that represent the problem, and the spectrum of research methods and statistical analyses required to successfully support you in completing the project.

This is arguably the deepest approach to creative, multidisciplinary, real-world problem-solving globally available today, a repertoire of strategies that accommodates and extends existing good practices like the McKinsey Mind (the Management Consulting model of McKinsey & Co), Data and Enterprise Engineering systems. Hence, using these insights, I will guide you to

  • Select the most suitable research methodology (qualitative, quantitative and mixed) and statistical methods for your research questions.
  • You will receive through email reports and video calls detailed comments and explanations of the methods and results, so that you are in full control of your research projects.
  • It is important to note that I don’t do individual research projects for researchers, which is extremely unethical. I rather support your work as allowed professionally, especially advising you on the statistical and business analytics perspectives. You always lead your work.
  • If your project is part of a research grant, I have the experience to adapt the statistical analysis plan to the project objectives. For example, I have led several initiatives and research grants which attracted more than £500,000.
  • Should you be interested in extending your experience with us phenomenally like having exposure to very advanced research and business development skills, please refer to our Global Tuition and Research Support Services website, www.glotress.co.uk.
